Aug 25, 2016  Non of my tagged photos from my mac carried over. I had maybe 20 people tagged. Now I have 5 cause I had to name the faces again on my iPad and my iPhone. Completely separate per device. The scanning and adding faces and merging is a lot easier now though. It even scans thumbnails on videos so you can tag them as well. Place the first item you want to scan face-down on the scanner glass, aligning it with the guide at the edge of the glass. In HP Easy Scan, click Scan. Apparently you can stop face recognition by quitting iPhotos, opening a terminal and typing the following (and press enter): defaults write com.apple.iPhoto PKFaceDetectionEnabled 0 I guess you'll then need to manually delete all the faces it's recognised thus far. As for the new 'Photos' app, I don't think you can disable the face detection. Open Printers & Scanners preferences for me Select your scanner in the list at the left, then click Open Scanner on the right. If your scanner is also a printer, you may need to click Scan on the right before you can click Open Scanner.
