Git For El Capitan
What is this? La Capitaine is an icon pack — designed to integrate with most desktop environments. The set of icons takes inspiration from the latest iterations of macOS and Google's Material Design through the use of visually pleasing gradients, shadowing, and simple icon geometry. Builds have been updated to create symlinks in /usr/local/bin to run git. El Capitan no longer allows modifications to /usr/bin, and /usr/local/bin is preferred over /usr/bin, by default. The installer installs the uninstall.sh script, which has also been updated to remove the new symlinks created. ##Install Git. Setup set to not suffer the next time
Setup
1. Run software update
After upgrating to OS 'El Capitan' I noticed that git-up was no longer installed. I tried to install by: gem install git-up ERROR: While executing gem. (Errno::EACCES) Permission denied - /. 2. Install Xcode and/or 'Command Line Tools'
Xcode can be found on App Store. preferred
Open and accept the terms
Finaly got to the terminal and install 'Command Line Tools':

3. Install Dotfiles
I have an repo with my Dotfiles and instructions.
This will install some useful stuff and install Homebrew.
4. Install softwares
homebrew-cask
Many softwares can be installed throughhomebrew-cask which makes the process way simpler:
After install softwares, move all apps from /opt/homebrew-cask/Caskroom/
to /Applications
. And to remove all installations files from /Library/Caches/Homebrew
.

5. Borrow a few OSX settings from mathiasbynens dotfiles

I keep my settings andbundles on dropbox, just need to create the symlinks.
Might change this in the future to use a git repository tho.
9. Configure npm and generate SSH keys for github

10. Copy stuff from old HD
Check if files were copied properly and rename/move. Copying to a temporaryfolder since rsync
might delete files depending on the options and/or mergefolders that you do not want to merge.
rsync
is great, you should use it when possible.
11. Download IE test VMs for VirtualBox
these take a while to download! so maybe do it on a separate day as abackground process..
12. Download a base Ubuntu box for Vagrant
I'm using Vagrant to setup a few VMs locally fordevelopment.
Git For El Capitan 10
The Ubuntu image takes ~2h to download since vagrant server is slow (~50Kb/s),might be faster to download the iso from the Ubuntusite and mount the image by yourself.
